I will tell it as we found it and leave you to make your mind up about this villa.
We arrived at the villa very late where we met our respective daughters and partners. We had a few drinks in the delightful Kosc by the pool and then went to bed without unpacking, a job for the morning we thought. It was then that we noticed that half of every wardrobe was locked and to make matters worse the dorm that opened protruded into the remaining space so that entry into the unlocked half was somewhat limited. We had come to Turkey for my daughter's wedding and so we had suits and "posh frocks" as well as normal holiday clothes so this arrangement was most unsatisfactory, it was actually unacceptable. Had we known this was going to be the case we would not have taken the villa, in the same way we wouldn't have chosen a villa with shared pool and outside facilities, it just wouldn't work. There was nowhere in the villa details on the website that mentioned this and the management company were equally unaware of this situation. They did try to sort this out : they called the owner who was in the Netherlands twice to try to resolve this problem. One solution would have been to take the locks off and move the clothes and things into storage whilst we were there but this was deemed to be unacceptable even though they were quite happy to take our money in full. However the owners would not agree to this and the company brought a couple of clothes rails. Problem was there was no room for these so it was a non-starter anyway. To make matters worse some of the wardrobes had spare duvets, pillows and blankets stashed in them, not really necessary in temperatures in the 30s.
We stayed here 3 days and then the management company moved us to another villa which was infinitely better for our needs.
Let me give you a tour of the villa so that you can see whether it would do for you, ignoring the locked wardrobes. The top of the villa was where my sister stayed. It was en-suite but apart from a chest of drawers there was nowhere to hang any clothes but some hooks on the back of the door. Bear in mind we were here for a wedding and needed somewhere to hang clothes. There were two beds in the room but no curtains to the window. On the floor below there were two double rooms and a twin bedded room and one shower room/toilet between them. As you can imagine you could potentially have 6 people wanting to use that bathroom. On the ground floor there was a hall with toilet off and a sitting room leading to the kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped as was the sitting room which to be honest we didn't use much preferring to be outside as much as possible. We were never able to get the light working in the toilet and when you walked in through the front door you were met by a low open chest containing all manner of footwear. This should have told us what to expect with the wardrobes ! The swimming pool and kosc were lovely, and the garden was mature and very pleasant to sit in. At least one of the sun loungers was broken but there were enough for us.
I don't think I've left anything out, if I had known this was how the villa was going to be I would have looked elsewhere.
One other thing that seemed a bit odd. There was a guest review book in the villa but no entries beyond 2015 and I don't think there are any reviews on the owners direct website for this villa in 2016. Make of that what you will.
I agree that there was an issue for your stay regarding the wardrobe space. Once reported to us on your 2nd day we tried to rectify this, the owner did not want us to remove his possessions so we obtained clothes rails, as you say this was not satisfactory as there was not really enough space for these to stand. On the 3rd day we moved you to a more expensive villa at no extra cost to yourselves.
You make the point about the family bathroom for all 6 of you to wait to use, the number of bathrooms are clearly stated on the property description.
I do not think that the small chest you mention in the entrance hall would do anything to mar someones holiday.
With regards to us moving you to another villa, when a member of staff passed, the garden was overload with at least over 25 people with a Turkish wedding band playing, you did mention that you were having a few people round for drinks, but the contract for the villa is for 10 people. You did not advise us that you were having the whole wedding party round to the villa. We did not come round the next day to mention to you that this goes against our contract. Its a shame that some points in your review on here and on Facebook are quite petty.
No problems on arrival, house very clean and neat, loads of towels and sheets, draws full of things that make it home straight away. In the kitchen there is a large bottle water dispenser, refills delivered to the door. House well furnished lots of storage in bedrooms which were clean and bright and had air con. Then I come to the outdoor part of the villa, it was truly great, pool and deck kept so clean, lovely private garden with mature plants and so peaceful, so many villas have pools on show but this is a bit discreet. The position of the villa could not be better, small walk to very friendly shop with most things and in the same area the restaurants start and go on all thro the town, big choice. thanks to all at Turkevi for looking after us.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Villa Mehsan your review is very helpful to us.Look forward to seeing you again in Dalyan in 2016
We have just returned from 2 weeks staying at Villa Mehsan, which we rented threw Turkevi Ltd, who provided an excellent service from when we first contacted them 9 months ago, to the minute we departed.
The Villa lived up to all the pictures and information on the websites, and this was our 3rd Visit to Dalyan, which we all love, cannot praise the people enough, and we plan to return next summer.
Rented the villa mehsan through Turkevi Ltd, from first enquiry in February to the day we handed the keys back to Turkevi the whole experience was faultless.
The villa is just as described, excellently managed by Turkevi team: spotlessly clean, well equipped, good location to catch the afternoon breeze and a short walk to the town and river.
The pool area is secluded and that's where our party of up to 9, it varied over the 3 weeks with different family members from 55years to 18 years, spent our days and evenings.
We took a private 12 Island boat trip with lunch and lots of stops for snorkelling with Styx travel - a must do experience.
3 of our group went diving for the day with euro dive in Dalyan, 2 are experienced divers and one went along to swim and snorkel - they had a great day and were impressed with euro dive.
Have had a number of holidays in Dalyan but this was the best experience in terms of villa, management company and tours and family company. are now also Dalyan fans
Thank you for taking time to post these reviews, it gives future bookers a good insight as to what Dalyan has to offer. We are glad you all had a great time and look forward to seeing you in Dalyan again.
Our family of nine, enjoyed a lovely holiday in Villa Mehsan, with a beautiful mature garden, nice pool and stunning views across to the mountains, it is in an ideal location. It is only a short walk to the river and town centre. Villa Mehsan is very clean with all modern appliances, efficient air-conditioning and very comfy beds.
There are plenty of friendly cafes and restaurants to choose from and the local tour companies provided help in describing activities available. Our family particularly enjoyed Iztuzu beach and the children found the Carretta Carretta information centre and hospital very interesting. A visit to Saklikent Gorge was stunning and our day on a boat was great thanks to our friendly captain.
We like Dalyan very much and have now found the perfect villa to stay. A big thank you to Tina and her team for making our stay so enjoyable!
Thank you for taking time to write your review. We are happy that you enjoyed your time in Dalyan and at Villa Mehsan. We hope to see you in Dalyan again.
